FIRST ROSES AWARDS WIN FOR ZEAL

Our Creative team have done it again! Hot on the heels of their Cannes Young Lions win, last week the results of the 2020 Roses Awards were announced, and we were thrilled receive the news – we have won our first ever Roses award!

The Drum Roses Awards strive to find hidden gems in advertising, digital and design; identifying, rewarding and celebrating the best creative work outside of London. Regardless of the size or age of the agency, anyone can enter under one condition – the client or agency is headquartered outside of the M25.

Darren Grzesiak, Creative Group Head, and Samantha Banner, Copywriter, were awarded a bronze in the Innovative Use of Technology category, for their outstanding creative work on Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut ‘Shazam Your Crunch’ campaign.

The campaign, which launched in October, was truly one of kind; Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut needed an innovative on-pack promotion that heroed their iconic crunch. ZEAL formed a partnership with Shazam, creating an unprecedented entry mechanic, using sound recognition technology. Crunchy Nutters measured the level of their crunching on the Crunch-o-meter, while enjoying their favourite cereal for the chance to win a Sony speaker – making the distinctive crunch (literal) music to their ears. Our award-winning Creatives, Darren Grzesiak and Samantha Banner, are thrilled with their win;

 “What started off as a ‘what if idea’ ended up becoming a reality and now we have a Roses award to show for it. We were so honoured to be nominated, so to go on and win an award is just incredible. This is ZEAL’s first time entering the Roses and hopefully the first of many awards to come.”

Lucy Cranshaw, Kellogg’s Account Manager, is proud to see their work recognised;

“We knew that our creative team had come up with a winning idea as soon as they presented ‘Shazam Your Crunch’ to us, so we simply had to make it happen! The fact that we were able to build a digital platform that was totally responsive to the sound of someone crunching their cereal was pure magic, and we are all thrilled to have been recognised by the Roses for it.”
