ZEAL has made another early move in 2019 to strengthen our senior team with the arrival of experienced brand activation specialist, Nathan Harrison into the role of Client Development Director.
Nathan arrives at ZEAL with 20+ years shopper, FMCG and retail experience; a strategic thinker with a hands-on reputation for creating high performing brand activation campaigns.
Over the past 11 years, Nathan has been instrumental in the phenomenal growth of London based shopper marketing specialist, Mesh Marketing. As Business Director he led the long-term development of accounts such as Mars, Nestlé and Reckitt Benckiser. His key talent lies in working very closely with his clients to understand and help solve their problems to deliver long term growth.
Prior to his long-term role at Mesh, Nathan cut his brand activation teeth at some of the best agencies in the capital including: The Marketing Store, Triangle and Marketing Drive. He is an Honours graduate in Psychology and Sociology from Liverpool University and he holds an IPM Diploma. Through his work in FMCG he also holds a Certificate in Category Management from the IGD.
ZEAL is flattered that when Nathan decided to re-locate to the North West, (he wife is originally from The Wirral), he did his research and decided we felt like the best fit for his talents. It was clear from the first meeting that his relaxed, inclusive style was just right for our team and we quickly swooped to bring him on board.
At ZEAL, Nathan will be supporting the work of our MD Rachel McHale and her Planning Team to drive our clients’ businesses forward. Initially, his focus will be on our biggest accounts: Nestlé Confectionery, Kellogg’s Cereals and Pringles.
Nathan, a natural optimist, is definitely up for the challenges ahead:
‘I’m very pleased to be joining ZEAL at such an exciting time. Since arriving, the team have made me feel extremely welcome and I’ve also been impressed with the enthusiasm and talent that they possess. Moving forward, I’m really looking forward to helping shape the future of ZEAL and our fantastic client base.’
Managing Director Rachel McHale is clear on the value that Nathan brings to her team:
‘As well as simply being a lovely guy to work with, Nathan really knows his stuff. He can take a complex brief from a client and develop winning solutions that fit our mantra of being ’Beautifully Effective’. It’s very clear from the off that Nathan is amazing face-to-face with clients and he relishes the role of becoming a long-term trusted partner for some of the big name brands we work with. I can’t wait to introduce him to some of our equally passionate client leaders to see what we can achieve together’.
Outside of work, Nathan is a busy and active dad to three children: Lottie (11), Lexie (10) and George (6). When not working on briefs you can generally find him being Dad’s taxi to his kids; on the football/ rugby pitch touchline cheering them on or escaping to the golf course whenever he gets the chance!
The only big issue we can see is that he supports Liverpool and Rachel supports City, so some of their strategy sessions might have a bit of an edge to them later in the season!
