Meet ZEAL’s wonderful new placement student, Kirrie Whamond.

Kirrie joined team ZEAL in July, after securing a year-long placement as a Junior Account Executive as part of her studies at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Kirrie’s journey began when she moved to Manchester from her home in Silsden, West Yorkshire to study Events Management at university. After a year of studying, she found that she had a real interest in experiential events and brand activation, and so decided that her future lay within the exciting world of creative marketing.

Although her role is within the Planning and Strategy team, Kirrie will have the chance to work across all areas at ZEAL over the course of the year, gaining a real insight into all aspects of agency life.

Kirrie talks about her ZEAL experience;

“I’m loving my time at ZEAL so far, everyone in the office is so welcoming and I really felt like part of the team from day one! Getting to work so closely with the Directors on a daily basis is invaluable, and every day is different – I’m lucky enough to be working across a wide variety of projects, from general admin to new business prospecting. I’m learning every day, and I’m really excited for the year ahead!”

Rachel McHale, MD of ZEAL welcomes Kirrie to the team:

“This year we received over 100 applications for our university placement scheme to be a Junior Account Executive and Kirrie was the standout candidate by far. In the short space of time she has been with us Kirrie has fitted into the team perfectly, taking ownership of a range of agency tasks with real ZEAL. Kirrie has a genuine appetite to learn that combined with her youth and energy is proving to be a formidable asset to our agency. Over the next 12 months Kirrie will get the chance to work across all our clients and every type of project we create.  We wish her all the best for what we know will be a busy but highly enjoyable year.”

Kirrie is a big foodie, and when she’s not trying out recipes for her food blog, she’s exploring the newest local restaurants and bars. Kirrie spends her weekends catching up with friends over a G&T in Manchester or Leeds, and can usually be found enjoying avocado hosomaki in her favourite sushi restaurant.
